The Lottery Winners
The Lottery Winners delivered a vibrant performance at The Drill Hall in Lincoln as part of their "This Is How It Feels" tour with local support from Crystal Tides and Kidda. The band played a mix of tracks primarily from their UK Number 1 album Anxiety Replacement Therapy, including fan favorites like "Sertraline," "Burning House," and "Letter to Myself." They also treated the audience to songs from their earlier albums, such as "21" and "Much Better."

Creeper
Creeper Cult fever hit The Drill with their sold-out gig showcasing their signature blend of dark theatricality and punk energy. Highlights of the setlist included powerful renditions of "Annabelle," "Cyanide," and "Born Cold." The band also thrilled the audience with a surprise performance of some older material. An electric show, combining goth-punk aesthetics with anthemic choruses.

The Libertines
The Libertines performed their sold-out show at The Drill as part of their UK tour promoting their upcoming album All Quiet on the Eastern Esplanade. The night kicked off with "Up the Bracket," immediately electrifying the crowd. They continued with a mix of classics and new tracks, including "Vertigo," "What Became of the Likely Lads," and their latest single "Run Run Run."

Wheatus + MC Frontalot
Making it a Halloween to remember. Wheatus and nerdcore rapper MC Frontalot took to the Drill’s stage. Wheatus delivered a lively performance, with their classic hit "Teenage Dirtbag" igniting the crowd, you couldn’t help but sing along. MC Frontalot opened the night with his signature blend of clever lyrics and geek culture references, setting a playful tone for the evening.

Badlands Festival Lincoln Punk Festival comes to The Drill, showcasing a diverse punk lineup with a mix of established acts and rising stars in the punk scene. This years lineup included Pet Needs, Roughneck Riot, Riskee & The Ridicule, Hell's Ditch, Sam Russo, Cherym, Menstrual Cramps and WACO.

The Zutons

In 2022 guardianship passed from the Lincoln Arts Trust to Lincoln College Group, which secured £1m funding to refurbish the venue, relaunching a reimagined venue with a new name – the Drill. To celebrate the new life of the venue The Drill hosted their sold out launch show with music from The Sherlocks + Huey Morgan DJ Set + The Lottery Winners + The Kev Richardson Band + Vigilantes.

The Drill continued at the heart of the City’s cultural landscape, hosting music, comedy, theatre and exhibitions until 2020. In the midst of the COVID-19 global pandemic it closed due the crippling impact of social restrictions.

The Buzzcocks visited Lincoln Drill on April 5 for part of their 2005 tour, supporting their self-titled album "Buzzcocks," released in 2003. The setlist included a mix of classic hits like "Ever Fallen in Love (With Someone You Shouldn't've)" and newer tracks from their more recent albums.

The Drill Hall reopened after a £2.6m refurbishment facilitated by the City of Lincoln Council, who passed day to day control to an independent charitable Trust.

UK SUBS visited the Drill on May 28th as part of the tour promoting their early albums, "Another Kind of Blues" and "Brand New Age," which were released in 1979 and 1980, respectively. These albums included some of their most iconic tracks, like "Stranglehold" and "Warhead."

On May 15, 1980, Iron Maiden performed at The Drill in their first major tour supporting their debut self-titled album, which had just been released on April 14, 1980. This show was part of the "Iron Maiden Tour," marking an important early milestone for the band as they began to establish their presence in the heavy metal scene.

Stiff Little Fingers

The Stranglers
On September 19th, music legends The Stranglers visited as part of their "Black and White" tour, following the release of their third studio album, Black and White, which had been released in May 1978. The Damned visited the Drill Hall in Lincoln on June 14. This event was part of their UK tour following the release of their debut album, Damned Damned Damned, which was released in February 1977. They were joined by support The Adverts

Judas Preist visited the Drill on July 26 just before releasing their first album and single, both titled "Rocka' Rolla" and produced by Roger Bain who had worked with Black Sabbath. They returned later in 1976 for their ‘Sad Wings of Destiny Tour’

The Drill Hall was used as a base by the Lincoln City Football Supporters Club for fundraising purposes and community events, particularly bingo and wrestling.

The Rolling Stones play the Drill Hall on New Year’s Eve – The following day was a milestone for The Rolling Stones as they made their debut appearance on the popular British television show "Top of the Pops," THE major platform for showcasing musical talent at the time. This appearance marked the beginning of their rise to prominence in the UK music scene.

The 4th Battalion was reconstituted after the Second World War and amalgamated with the 6th Battalion to form the 4th/6th Battalion in 1950. Various forms of entertainment were held at the Drill held including pop music gigs, orchestral performances and theatre.

The battalion was mobilised at the Drill Hall in August 1914 before being deployed to the Western Front.

The 1st Lincolnshire Rifle volunteers became the 4th Battalion of the Lincolnshire Regiment.

Designed by Goddard and Son and funded by Joseph Ruston for the 1st Lincolnshire Rifle Volunteers, The Drill opened. Although intended as a purpose-built military training HQ, it threw open its doors to the community to host events from a very early stage.
